Dilute (Lean Phase) Conveying

Function and use

A pressure type lean phase conveying system utilizes positive pressure to move materials. These systems operate with low pressure but high velocity, ensuring the material remains in a suspended flow with a significant amount of air relative to the material. Conveying speeds typically range from 15 to 30 meters per second, adjusted according to the material’s characteristics.

In positive pressure or gravity-based conveying systems, prime movers are positioned before the material inlet. Once the powder is collected in the Feed Hopper, it is introduced into the pipeline through a specially designed moderate pressure Rotary Airlock Valve. From there, a positive pressure Roots blower propels the material to its destination. The material-to-air ratio in these systems is generally less than 10, with the capacity varying based on the input and available pressure.

Lean phase conveying systems are designed for long-distance transport and high conveyance rates, although these can present challenges. The system’s efficiency and performance depend on accurately managing the input and pressure conditions to meet specific material handling needs.
